Like she said referring to the non-tolerant christians... "It just gives them one more reason to hate me."
As for me... I dont care... My best friend is gay... I have nothing against gays...

There is absolutely no point in changing your opinion about the books just because you found out that Dumbledore is gay. In fact, J. K. Rowling never even stated that he was fully gay, just that he had fallen in love with someone that was his intellectual equal and could keep up with him mentally. If Grindelwald happened to be a woman, Dumbledore still would have fallen in love with him/her.
Personally, I think that homosexuality is wrong, but I don't treat people any different because of it. There isn't any point in treating people differently because of a choice like that, in the end, they are still the same person. Just because Dumbledore fell in love with a man, doesn't change any of the good that he did, even though he was a fictional character.
As to J. K. Rowling trying to create a new religion, that is just a load of crap. Rowling states a lot that she doesn't want anyone to believe in anything more that the books give them other than the message that she's trying to give; namely, that bigotry is evil and needs to be stopped.

It's a fictional story so Albus being gay is only in the authors imagination.
Perhaps she just wants to be politically correct and ruffle a few feathers along the way.
Rowling can make her characters anything she wants. They're fictional.

The series is OVER. I didn't see it as a religion at all, but each reader gets something different from books. I love the books and would love to believe in magic, but don't. It doesn't affect my feelings about the books or about Professor Dumbledore. He was widely loved and respected for his knowledge and compassion, not for his gender identity, and knowing his inclination doesn't change that for me at all, though I'm straight. I pity those who will change their minds due to this revelation. His worth is not affected by this revelation, as his actions are unchanged. Check the difference between reviled and revealed.

Yeah, I don't really care but I think that some of the many people that read the books will find it, like, offensive or something, i don't know. I would also assume a lot of parents will not want there kids reading them anymore. I don't know why it would matter though, to some it just does...

I really do not care I mean they go from top best seller series then the auther admits that one character is something completely off the subject that is not related to the age group which is older child when it first came out then it is this huge deal its stupid I mean in the books it talks nothing about that stuff in the book. My opinion is cry me a river bridge and find a new subject please.

It will not change anything. JKR is not trying to found a new religion, just write a story. Bigots will react as you might expect them to, and the rest of us will go on enjoying the stories.

I'm upset about it. I love those books, but I don't think there's a need for her to have said that. It plays no part in the books whatsoever and I think she should have kept her mouth shut for the people who are non-tolerant toward gays.

the books have always been a "controversial" topic. i think that by revealing that dumbledore was gay will make the books even more controversial than ever before.
