well there a good question, 6 is always better then 5 but you need to know why first and then you can answer it your self.

the lug bolt are more for stopping then to hold the tire on the car, truck, the hole in the middle of the rim is what holds the weight of the car, truck, but if you adding a motor with more torq not so much as horse power as torq, as torq is what gets you going to start with and puts more load on the studs, then yes 6 is better then 5

as for the blocks to raise the truck, the more you get the axles away from the springs the more leverage there is (not in your favor) the closer you keep the axle to the springs the better it is all around, so spending the money on the spring Kit was a good idea...

I ran a 74 Chev 3/4 ton 454 36 inch tires for mud-dragging and won 1st place for two years before I got tired of it....was a heck of a lot of fun though. 1/2 ton 5 bolt axle might hold up for a while but it depends on how much you beat it...3/4 ton 6 bolt is much stouter but more expensive to fix also. Very important to have good, strong u-joints with the grease fitting in the cap and not in the body or "tee" of the u-joint...much stronger. Off-road or plowing parts suppliers carry them. Best to go with re-arced leaf springs or new for the lift.
