I have experienced prejudice and discrimination all my life in the good ole U S of of A. I'll give you some examples. Today, I was standing in line in the deli and there was an asian lady in front of me, I was standing behind her with my cart against the produce waiting for my turn. By the way, I'm asian too. Anyway, this caucasion guy cuts in front of me and asks for some kind of meat, being oblivious that he should have ask me if I was in line. And when he was waiting for his meat, after the asian lady left, it was my turn. He said "Oh I'm sorry, I thought you were with her." I said "You assumed that I was with her because I'm also asian." Then he goes "I didn't say anything about you being asian." I was nodding my head "No".I'm thinking in my head that actions speak louder than words.
The other time I was at the library with my son checking out some books waiting in line. This caucasion lady asks if the kid (who was dark skinned) in front of me was my kid (I'm kinda tan too).

Anyway, to continue, this little kid in front of me belonged to an indian lady.

Hopefully, my post will influence other people to not judge too quickly.

Thanks for the adversial comments towards me. If you were in my position and experienced this alot, you would be overly SENSITIVE too!
But maybe you never been in my position so you can not tell me how I'm suppose to feel. Good for you that no one judged you!

Well, maybe it will influence people not to be so judgemental, but maybe you're just too sensitive?

I mean would it be unusual to think two Asian people were together? Or that you were there with a child?

Some people are WAY too touchy and we also can't tip toe around everyone 'cause they are prejudiced in another way...thinking that everything Caucasions are all out to get them and everything is an attack against them.

Trust me, I am not white, caucasion or whatever, I am of Mexican desent and my husband is Asian so I am not saying prejudice does not exist I know that it does!

I'm just saying. Don't be so sensitive...sometimes an honest mistake is just that...and honest mistake...AND sometimes people are just downright rude and pushy regardless of prejudice or what race you are.

It sounds like two different cases you've encountered here in your examples. The man in the deli line was rude and judgemental in my opinion. As for the woman in the library, I'd say she was more concerned about the boy being alone.

You notice I did not refer to either of the above examples pertaining to their race. We are all different, regardless of our race; we are different, in that we are individuals. Some people are just rude, some are judgemental, and some are quite concerned citizens. There are several other differences as I'm sure you are well aware of other than race.

People are often to quick to jump to the racial issues as being the problem, when it could just be a human nature issue.

Some people tend to judge to quickly, because they were not raised correctly to respect everyone.....You can not assume anyone is with anyone, does that mean that every white kid is with the white adult next to them? No.......but sorry to say the world is full of ignorance and you must rise above and know you are better then it and do not let it get to you........Life is short, make the most of it......If you dwell on it and let it bother you, then you may have resentment and then turn out like they are..........

is your life so shallow that things like this bother you to the point that you have to post something like this about people judging you???
you need to get out more, get a life and stop being so sensitive.
