I remember as a kid I used to make a beeline for the coins when I'd go into the Woolworth's store just down the road. They kept them under glass on a revolving display mechanism. Does anybody else recall this?

You could at some of the stores, but not all and yes I remember seeing them in a few of the .05 & .10 across country but I am not sure they were Woolwoorth's. I am not sure if the store owned them or if it was a local thing.

I didn't realize that you could buy coins at Woolworth's. I do remember that you could sometimes buy them in department stores.. they actually had Coin Departments (usually near the Book Department.) Whenever I was dragged into a shopping trip with the family, these places saved the day!
