ok so i know its an extremely tough school to get into and i am keeping my options open. But, USC is my dream school and I was wondering if I am on the right track to get in.
freshman year:
honor's english
formal geometry(honors)
honors biology
german
2 other electives

sophmore year:
honors chem
honors world history
honors enlgish 3/4
german 3/4
algebra 3/4 (honors)
photographics
*took ap world history exam and got college credits at end of the year*
gpa: 3.5

junior year:
AP english
AP biology
Trig(honors)
AP History
german 5/6
computer lit/ basic buisness

EXTRA:
i do dance, and did gymnastics for a really long time (until injured) also i my friends and i volunteer at animal shelters and participate in walks for different causes.

my dad went to usc and my HS is one of the top 400 in the nation so you think im on the right track?

Yes -- you are on the right track. If you get a high SAT score, you have a good chance of getting into USC or some school of similar quality.

I'm not sure, though, why anyone would want to go to a school where maroon was one of the school colors.

Sounds like you have a good resume. A lot will depend on your essay, and since you've done well in honors writing courses, that shouldn't be a problem for you. They're looking for interesting, well-rounded people. Your extracurricular activities will be important, and make sure when you write about them, make the write-up interesting and entertaining. An example: I've got a good friend (an attorney) who graduated from UCLA's law school (VERY highly ranked). He actually wrote his daughter's USC application essay. He talked about their family side business in horse racing and an experience she had buying a racehorse cheap, caring for her and entering her in a claims race. She ultimately lost her horse in the race, but the emphasis was on what she learned and what a great, fun experience it was. And, he managed to do it succinctly (obviously not my forte). But, that gives you a great winning idea for your approach to your essay. Good luck!

Yeah

Not everyone is doing Algebra 3/4
