These are not "High Performance" Tires, typically, that would be a "Z" rated tire. This is not a good life span on tires, if your driving habits are not at fault. Alot of what contributes premature tire wear is poor driving habits, hard cornering, quick accelerations, basically, the kind of driving everyone does until they are almost 30, (that was a joke).
Did you ever have them rotated? is the wear even across the entire tire? you may have an alignment or tire pressure issue.

I would say that you are in the range. How are the back tires? If they look really good, then you are guilty of not rotating the tires and you may have gotten another 25K miles out of the tires before they were really worn.
good luck with the new tires, this time have them rotated every 6K miles. You will see a difference in wear.

From your scenario, have you tried rotating your tires? I believe your car is front wheel drive and rotating them should make your tires last a little longer. How long? well this depends on your driving habits (braking and fast acceleration...). Also, consider checking your tire pressure at least once month to prolong the life of your tires. Check your owners' manual for correct tire pressure.

that's not too bad of mileage for that size of a tire, you done pretty good from it,if they had been rotated ,you might have got more from them, usually when the front ones wear out first ,it either means they haven't been rotated enough,or the vehicle needs a front end alignment, you can have that checked when you replace the tires though,it should be alright, good luck with it.

Performance tires are made of a softer rubber compound so they grip better, the trade off is they also wear faster
