I have a windows Vista laptop but I got locked out of it. Is there any way around the password? It is a Toshiba. I have no clue what the password is and i have no restore disk.

Take it to Best Buy and talk to the Geek Squad. They are the only people I know who can remove the password from Vista.

If you actually bought the computer, you ought to have either a Vista install disk, or a restore disk. If not, then I'm guessing you either found, or took the computer from somewhere else. Anyway, you need to buy a Vista Install CD. The OEM versions are quite cheap. I'm not going to teach you how to hack into a computer's password. Bad thing to do.

Personally, I think you're sunk.
Normally, I would have suggested you gather the order number, customer number, serial number of the laptop - hoping you registered it - so you could contact Toshiba for a duplicate install disk. Without any paperwork or disks, I see no alternative except to contact a tech and it will cost you.

If you ever get it straightened out, suggest you keep a record of all pertinent information and the disks someplace where they will be safe.

Uh oh. There is really no way around this one. The only thing you can do is wipe out the hard drive, re-install the operating system, and just start over. That is a very common issue, but a terrible one. DONT FORGET YOUR PASSWORDS! haha thats the best advice I can give.
