I drive myself. I make the choice not to use public transportation. I prefer not to share my space with people that I do not know, and do not care to know!
My commute time is time that I can use to listen to the radio, or think. I like having the privacy to do what I want!

I did a straw poll at work, a dozen people, ALL used a car or M/Bike. All said the same thing, public transport was slower and dearer. Journey distance varied from 3 mile to 25 mile one way. The 3 mile journey by bus took as long as the 25 mile by car!

Car, which takes about 25 minutes, bus would take 2 to 3 hours.

I was classed as "an Essential Care User" when I worked, so, although the place where I worked normally was only a 15 minute walk away, I always went by car.
My job took me from Worcestershire to Blackpool, Whttington (above Manchester), Gloucestershire, Bristol, etc. Hence the "essential" bit.
