I've been hearing alot about a "Mandatory evacuation". So i decided to look up the info on it. and unsurprisingly i couldn't find anything in the law books about Mandatory evacuations, its rules or penalties for failure to comply. Can someone point me to the right direction? where in the Law books of California, give law enforcement officers to enforce Mandatory evacuations?

The California Emergency Services Act is in the Government Code, beginning with section 8550.

8665. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter or who refuses or willfully neglects to obey any lawful order or regulation promulgated or issued as provided in this chapter, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment for not to exceed six months or by both such fine and imprisonment.

There are some laws that are for the Public Good or the Greater Good. They might be the place to look for laws like that. If an emergency threatens an area, and Mandatory evacuations are ordered, you can be arrested if you do not leave.

It's a concept -- there are few specific statutes with that title -- but the basic idea is that the state can force you to leave areas that are considered too dangerous.

But there are really no punishments for failure to comply -- other than the risk of whatever they are evacuating from.

I did a quick check -- and there are no published cases or statutes that talk about mandatory evacuation specifically -- so it falls under the general statute that says people must obey police officers in times of emergency
