Has any composer written a gay pride musical?

I am a theatrical person myself, so I am interested.

I like the Jerry Herman musical La Cage au Folle which is coming back to Broadway in NY and will probably tour across the U.S. if you want to see it.
The best gay pride song in the play is called:
"I am what I am."
Here are links to the play, and Shirley Bassey signing
I am what I am.

One life, and there's no return and no deposit!
One life, and it's time to open up your closet!
Life's not worth a damn, til you can shout out
I Am What I Am!

I honestly dont know.
But I doubt it would be good.
Alot of them would be way out there and probably end up hurting the community then bettering it..
but hey, you could write one!
