Port Aransas is not usually considered exciting, especially off-season. The north island is more family oriented and South Padre is more excitement oriented.

In Port A you soak up the natural serenity or take in the surf and seas.

Take a stroll on the beach or around town and enjoy the birds and nature of the island. Watch dolphins in the ship channel as you sail into the marina or your boat finds an area hot spot for fishing and boating. Rent a bike or electric buggie for zipping around while enjoying Port Aransas or visiting stores and galleries. Kayak, kiteboard or catch a wave surfing. Enjoy a round of golf or check out local events.

Sightsee from a private plane or a scenic cruise to view neighboring islands and the Lydia Ann Lighthouse. Take in a Community Theatre production or try your luck on the Texas Treasure gaming cruise. Visit the University of Texas Marine Science Institute or birdwatch at the many birding sites. Finish off the night with dining and dance to local music.

Nothing really exciting... You can go out to eat and then to the bar. I recommend "Sharkeys" for drinks...Then beach it up the rest of the time!
