One of my best friends in the entire world, who is extremely depressed, is seriously considering suicide. I've told him countless times not to do it; I, his wife, his child, and his other friends would all miss him terribly. Worse, he told me that *when* he does it, supposedly by drowning himself, he wants me to take his body out of the water and tell his wife what happened. I couldn't. I just couldn't. What should I say to him? I've already talked to him and he says it doesn't change his wanting to do it.

YOU are not responsible for convincing him by yourself and can not handle this by yourself. You need to tell other people, and tell them NOW!
I have lost 2 friends this way and even a false alarm is better than none.
You need to call his parents, his wife, his pastor or therapist (if he has one). By telling you/ asking you to help with his plan, he is asking for help and you owe it to him to do something NOW!
Do not wait another second, he needs to be in a place where he can be supervised 24/7 until he gets his meds and head straightened out. I promise you, you will NEVER forgive yourself for not taking this to the next level if you miss your chance to save him.
I had one friend in college if I had not read the signs and called her therapist, she would be dead. As it was, they found her barely alive and full of pills. If I had hesitated even an hour, I can't even think what would have been... If he is planning it out, he is def. a danger to himself and needs to get help now.
You need to call them NOW and let them know it is serious and probably soon. Get him the help he is asking you to get him!

Call the police. If he's seriously suicidal, he can be committed to the hospital because he is a danger to himself. This is far too weighty and difficult a thing to handle on your own. He needs serious help from mental health professionals. Hang in there! My thoughts are with you both

The witch hunts have been a manufactured from the Early modern-day era, no longer the Medieval era. it form of looks like a trivial factor, besides the shown fact that it is important. The printing press allowed community hysteria to shuttle greater and quicker. background sources positioned the form of actually executions between 60,000 to 3 hundred,000 utilising courtroom archives in Europe throughout the time of that entire era(c.1450-1750). the reason of the huge adjustments is the estimate of the archives that have been lost. community witchhunts have been in many cases constrained in area and length, including Matthew Hopkins in 1640s Essex, which got here approximately interior the context of the English Civil conflict.

tell his wife what hes planning on doing ... tell everyone ... make a stand together .. suicide is so selfish ... he needs to get counseling and some antidepressants ... what worries me is him wanting you to touch his body after wards ... a person cannot drown himself and you would look guilty of murder .. good luck in trying to prove that he killed himself.
you really need to get him help and you need to find a new friend.
