im 16 and i have a serious boyfriend. i dont expect us to be having sex for a while, but im always wondering if i should start birth control just to be safe. but i dont want to tell my parents because then theyll assume were having sex. and get all mad and such. so is it possible to get over the counter birth control, or can i get my doctor to prescribe me some without my parents knowing...

Well you are only 16 so you might not be able to get it without your parents knowing , But you never know ..call your Doctor tomorrow and ask him/her about birth control! Tell them how you are feeling ..basically what you just put on here ...let your doctor know that you want to go on birth control just in case ! Usually Doctors keep everything confidential but I'm not too sure about 16 ...but you can call and ask ..it doesn't hurt to do that! Good luck sweetie ! Hope this helps you a little !

Don't have sex until you're at least out of high school. As far as birth control, the best choice, by far, is condoms.

yes you can get it without your parents knowing my friends all did....you can either go to plan parenthood and get some or you can schedule a doctor apointment and they will give it to you and you can tell them to not mention it to your parents and they wont it is fairly easy.
