Im having a baby girl and I really love the name Zoe, the only poblem is that our surname also begins with "Z" so I need something to break it up. In my coulture we are not known to have middle names but this can be an exception. Its a long surname consisting of 11 letters so the first and middle names have to be short. Any suggestions would be appreciated, but I cant have Marie as a middle name as there are too many people I know that have already used it.

Ideally, this middle name would have two syllables. While you could go with a common name and it would be just okay, I always tell people to pick an unusual middle name. It makes the child feel special all of their lives. Let me see... How about

Zoe Kaden (my granddaughter's given name)

Zoe McKenzie (I like the added Z)

Zoe Isabelle

Zoe Pop (No, I'm not kidding. It's reminescent of Iggy Pop, but not, ya know?)

Zoe (followed by your mother's maiden name, given name, nickname or anything having to do with your mother. Because I have another granddaughter that's named after me & I just love the idea of a new mother including her own mother in a new daughters' birth).

Zoe October. (Don't ask me why. I just think that it sounds really good together. Since October represents the number 8, you can always tell her that it was because she was born on the 8th, 18th, 28th, or even that she was conceived on that day. Maybe someone you know was born in October? Whatever story you make up, stick to it & take that secret to your grave. It's all about making her feel special, remember?)

Zoe Bridgett. (But she'll probably grow up to be either short or tall, no in betweens there!)

Zoe Danielle. (That's in case you are a very traditional person).

Zoe Gabrielle. ('Cause I just like it).

Zoe Sunshine. (My Daddy's nickname for me).

Zoe Chiksita. (Why not name her after me? It's a Native American name of the Shawnee Indian Tribe. It's a combination word which means "pretty" and "little"). I'm only half kidding about naming her after my given name, as there are very few people in the world who share my name. And my friends call me Chik for short, which is kinda cool.

Zoe followed by your father's first name. Because your father would love it, of course!

Zoe JoHannah. (It's old-fashioned and hip at the same time).

These are just a few that I could think of. Your best bet is to follow your heart. Good Luck, sweetie!
