An attack by the US on Iran will bring the entire region into conflict -- and very likely drag in Russia, India and Pakistan -- meaning at least 4 or 5 nuclear-capable countries would be involved.
Yes -- it would endanger world security -- and for no valid reason, since Iran is no threat to the US.

Without a doubt or a contradiction!!
There is no way we can secure Iran when we are already having trouble with Iraq and Afghanistan. Another pre-emptive war would only ignite EVEN MORE anti-American feelings (if that is even possible) and lend credibility to the idea that we are fighting a war against muslims.
Of course it would be a major recruiting tool for terrorist groups and would cost thousands of American lives.
There is also the question of the damage it would do to our relations with the rest of the world. It could cause extremists to take over in Pakistan which has nuclear weapons and that is just the tip of the iceberg.
What about the question of whether we have enough troops to do it and what a defeat would do to us if we don't.
Of course it is perhaps the one thing that could unite Iran behin Ahmadinejad, the main guy we want them to depose.
This of course would be disastrous. That hasn't stopped neo-cons from beating their war drums or Dems like Clinton and Lieberman voting to support their warmongering resolutions.

Any war endangers world security. With all the nut cases out there who now have access to nuclear weapons, I fear this world has only a short time to live. Run up those credit cards, get a house you can't afford....because soon the heat of a nuke war could very well wipe us all out.
