i'm pretty gothic but i cant dress the way i want to becuz of our horrid dress code. before i actually started going to this particular school, i thought it would be easy to turn my uniform into my own creation, but it really isnt that easy, and looking like everybody else is giving me spasms. (we all have to wear white polos and blue pants.) does anybody have any ideas about how i can customize the uniform? (i am not one of those air-headed bastards who run around screaming about how they are soooo gothic just becuz they happened to put on some eyeliner. i know who i am, so if u think im a poser, then watever, u r entitled to your opinian, but there is no need to tell me so.)

It sounds like your school wouldn't accept most stuff like heavy makeup and studded belts. If they do, accessorise! You can make anything your own if you use the righht accessories. If not, maybe you should concentrate on your hair, as this seem to be the area school are most leniant on. Dye it, streak it, style it, whatever. Just make sure that who you are comes through.

I know where you're coming from as a student at a catholic school. The main thing would be accessories such as headbands and wrist bands and necklaces and earrings that reflect the gothic culture. Makeup would also be a must, but just because you war black eyeliner does not make you a gothic. Hairstyle as well.
As for the uniform, you might not be able to switch it up that much. It depends on what is allowed. At my school our socks and shoes and everything has to be the same, but most of the kids wear different undershirts or something. Some can get away with leggings if they are not that outrageous.
People might label you as a poser because you are being different with the uniform thing. I advise you to meet people who do not label you, but who can understand the lifestyle that you live and not judge you based on appearance.

I have the same problem i have a SUPER strict uniform code.
I'm not gothic but wear jewelry that you like and shoes that are fun and make sure your hair looks awesome and you'll stand out.

i would try acessories. lots and lots of acessories. hot topic rocks my world. im actually pretty preppy, but i still love it in there and buy stuff from there often. like you said, i know who i am, and i just wear what i feel like regardless of what "sterotype" it is. but anyway, since your gothic, try lots of black rubber band bracelts and earrings and stuff. get cool socks that come up to your knees or something that have a pattern you like.

I have the same problem. Plaid skirts, white buttons up's...boring. I wear bright bold handbags, different looking bright jewelry, and cute tennis shoes!

What you wear does not define who you are!
School uniforms are intended to eliminate that nonsense.
You may have to settle for the eye-liner, sweetie.

accessories are key. Necklaces, bracelets and rings that represent your style will work great. Shoes are always good too. Patches on your backpack maybe??
