Blue chromium peroxide is formed. [Cr(O2)]2O

H2O2 + Cr2O7 = 2 [Cr(O2)]2O + H2O

This is a mystery. The first product is CrO5, chromium peroxide. But that breaks down to a mix of Cr3+ and Cr2O7= compounds. If you do the reaction in pure acetic acid, the lovely blue CrO5 stays around for a long time.
