i just bought a cabin, the builder wraped the whole inside with plastic before finishing it. was this a good idea, or will condensation build up ? floors and cieling also.

As Glen said, let it breath. There are to many potential problems with the barrier.

NO.it will cause more problems than its worth. If you want to control the conditions you can get a sizalation paper that is silver one side and blue the other side, they use it in Aussie on the roof and external walls it stops a good percentage of the external heat and cold. In cabins / weekenders some people use it as lining on the inside of the external walls with the blue side in and presto you have a cheap wall lining.that is if you like blue, it costs about $50 a 50m roll. Polyethlene film is regulary used as a vapor barrier between heated and unheated spaces in an insulated structure. The vapor barrier should face the heated area, with the insulation on the other side of it.

Sounds like your builder did what was proper.

In my opinion, NO. I cannot see any advantage doing this. This cabin still needs to breath just like any other structure. I would find a long cabin manufacturer and get several other opinions from maybe an engineer. good luck.
