It all started in game one when Lofton took extra time to get into the batter's box against Beckett. Later in the series Lofton sort of dropped his bat hard after believing he had received ball four, when the pitch was actually called a strike. Lofton quickly picked up his bat, hit a popup for an out, and Beckett yelled something at Lofton. Lofton yelled back, headed towards the mound, and then the benches emptied.

May 24, 2005 when Beckett was a Marlin and Klof was a Phil, Klof flipped his bat after a walk and Beckett took exception to it. He yelled at Klof and they had some words back then. Beckett is old school and doesn't like showmanship.

something about they have a feud that goes way back, and he didn't like the way lofton threw his bat, and other people put up with it. Lofton appeared to be taunting him too.

he thought lofton showed him up after he hit a home run i think. I hope this does not mean he cant play with the red sox next year kenny has never played with them.

Uh...Because Lofton was talking trash to him and something about the way Lofton threw his bat that didn't sit well with Beckett...Doesn't matter...Beckett got the last laugh...

lofton thinks he can get inside pitchers heads by acting like a two year old at the plate. he has no real talent otherwise, that's why he keeps getting traded. even the yankees were sick of his **** after a year, and they deal with a-rod and his glove slapping drive by yelling. at least a-rod has talent. i hope he breaks his hip and goes away.
