The political achievements of the five outweighed their artistic ones. Beginning with Nerva, each man adopted an eminent other man, unrelated by blood, as his son. That meant that the next emperor would be a talented, virtuous person. It also meant that there would be an emperor and an heir at the same time, making it impossible for someone to assassinate the ruler and usurp the throne. Only Marcus Aurelius named his biological son Commodus as his heir.

Marcus Aurelius wrote the "Meditations,"a work of philosophy. Trajan built a triumphal arch in the Roman forum, if you want to call that art. Otherwise, you'll have to look up art works.
