I went to a Chiropracter for neck and should problems. In their attemtps to aling my entire spine, they adjusted my back from top to bottom. One of the techniques used was the compresion table, where you lie face down, the table from the waist down is slammed down forcing the lower spine forward.

During my first visit, the chiropracter did this procedure 11 times, until I noticed some discomfort. Upon standing, my lower back felt like "jello" The next day, it went out compltely and I was bed ridden. I went back to the chiro and he explained, "it gets worse before it can get better." and proceded to talk me into another 6 compresions. The next day I was totally crippled and refused to go back. It's been 6 months and my back is a little better, but I'm still cooked, can't walk right and am in pain 24/7.

What can I do about this? Who can I file a complaint with and should I consider legal action? I'm in missery, this guy was a con-man in my opinion.

Sue him and have his Chiropractic lisence taken away. Have him pay for your surgical procedures.

I had the same problem w/ a lower spinal fracture (L1, S7 vertebra to be exact) and I thought, as it seems did you, a chiropractor would be a good solution. She ended up worsening the problem and after 3 months of no improvement, I grew frustrated. I was recommended by a teammate to go see an orthopedic doctor specializing in sports injuries and w/in 2 WEEKS I was @ least 90%. That's what I would recommend considering they can give you pain killers for pain. The chiropractor recommended using a tennis ball to relieve tension by laying on it and rolling it. Irritated the pain, obviously. I've never considered a health practitioner a "quack", but I'd file chiropractors under that name. See an orthopedic doctor!

I love how everyone screams to sue them, they are not gods they make mistakes, and you are the one that stopped treatment without consulting him/her. Don't try to make money off it, your back went out it happens and it hurts, plus chiropractors union has the absolute best legal team of any other medical profession.
Have you seen another Dr. about this, if not then it must not hurt that bad. If its six months later and you havent done anything then your a fool.
If you don't want to go back to him, what you need to do is go to your physician, he will schedule an MRI and check that there isn't anything wrong, chances are good that he will then recommend physical therapy or a specialist.
Good Luck.

Without a doubt, take legal action. But before you do that, get yourself to an Orthopedist ASAP. Years ago I saw a Chiropractor until he got me to the point of not being able to get up out of bed! I am now totally disabled for the rest of my life...but that wasn't his fault. Many injuries have put me where I am today and with the help of medications and pain management, I can live!

I had a friend that was seriously hurt by a chiropractor. She sued him and won. Get a lawyer and they should be able to help you start the process. Since chiropractors aren't technically docs they aren't required to have malpractice insurance but many of them do. You could at least get his license stripped. Make sure you go and have a doctor check you out and document everything.

If this has been going on for that long, he did something wrong, yes at first you will have pain but it shouldnt last this long to the point of you not being able to function normally.
you need to go back to that place and explain what happened and talk to them.
before you take legal action you need to go to the hospital and get xrays and have doctors check it to see if anything might be wrong, possibly do an MRI. if they see something wrong, you need to take legal action.

Good luck

you need to start with a bone specialist, an osteopath, then a neurologist, and finally take those reports and see a lawyer.
