Ken Griffey Jr when he broke his wrist for seattle crashing into the centerfield wall. Ran along ways, Leaped to make the catch, crashed into the wall, broke his wrist and still made the play. Fantastic!

Timmy Lupus, playing for the Bad News Bears against the North Valley Yankees, in 1976.
The kid hadn't come near a ball all year. Matter of fact, I don't think he'd been out of the dugout all year.
Top of the final inning, Yankees at bat, and they've already taken a lead. Amanda Whurlitzer has thrown her arm out, so Rudi Stein has to take over as pitcher. Rudi's stuff isn't nearly as good as Amanda's, but Coach Buttermaker has no choice.
Yankees batter tees off on Stein, sending a deep, towering fly ball to right field. Everybody knows it's trouble, because Lupus can't catch a cold. Lupus goes back, back, back...
and makes a snowcone catch leaning against the fence to preserve a chance for the Bears to make a comeback!
Alas, the Bears don't come back quite all the way, but Timmy Lupus's heroics remain etched in the minds of all who saw him make the catch that fine summer day.

Gary Matthews Jr., June 2006, against the Astros. Juped about 3 1/2 feet, twisted, blindly caught it over the yellow tape on the wall.
Uh...Jose Reyes plays short.

Derek Jeter's catch into the stands was probably one of the most amazing catches.'
In the outfield, however, I would have to say Ichiro Suzuki's homerun rob, when he nearly jumped in to the stands. He plays for the Seattle Mariners, and it was in 2004.

Endy Chavez for the Mets during last year's NLCS. He robbed a homerun with an amazing leap and kept game 7 close. Unfortunately the Mets didn't capitalize on the momentum and get the win.

First of all, Jose Reyes is a SS and probably didn't rob anyone of a HR. All though he is almost fast enough to do it from SS!
Endy Chavez is definitely up there, but Kevin Mitchell's bare hand grab down the left field line is tops!

Melkys amazing over the top rob. Jumped up over Damon, looking up and its..caught! I love seeing the replay. He stumbles and cant stop running then falls and shows he has the ball.
All time has to be Willie Mays over the head basket catch in the playoffs. BEST OF ALL TIME.

Jim Edmonds when he was with the Angels. Was running flat-chat to the wall and dived facing the wall and landed stretched out on the warning track.

2007, Detroit Tigers, Curtis Granderson, Jumped and grabbed a ball over the wall with the tip of his glove (he lunged into the wall and it must have hurt) pulled his arm back into play and landed off balance but still kept the ball in his glove, simply amazing

Coco Crisp has impressed me quite a few times this year...Like his game ending one last night!! He may not be the greatest at the plate, But his defense is incredible!!!
