How does the barometric pressure affect cloud cover?

Winds move from high pressure areas to low pressure areas. If the barometric pressure is lower in one place than that of the surroundings, then it means a low pressure area exists there. So winds from the surroundings area will converge there and they will be forced to go up as convection currents. If the air over the low pressure area contains enough moisture, the convection current will lift them up and the moisture condenses at a particular height to form clouds. So,low barometric pressure is responsible for the cloud cover over that place.

The lower the barometric pressure, the more likely there will be clouds. Just think about hurricanes, which have very low pressures and think about how thick the clouds are.

It doesn't, it's the moisture content of the clouds.
