That's a difficult question. It would depend on the individuals. We can get away with age differences, but we can't get away with stage of life differences. I often make a joke saying that "I may be too old to cut the mustard, but I can still lick the jar"! What if I hooked up with a woman in her 20's or 30's. When I'm in my 60's or 70's, she would still be in her prime wanting more out of life than I could provide. That can cause a lot of problems. I have recently dated women that young, but it would take a lot of convincing for me to do anything permanent. I know a young woman right now that I could hook up with, according to her, but I couldn't do it. I have two sons older than her. What would they say? Plus I'm a few years older than her parents. So there is more than just the two people involved, there is other family members to consider also. Life has got to be worth living and that means you can't ignore everyone else to satisfy one person's passion. I would love to have a young woman permanently, but what would my selfishness do to her later on. This is an issue where logic has got to out weight emotion.

I think age is a number, and I think matters of the heart are matters of the heart, but don't get your hopes up

No, age does not matter in matters of the heart.

It shouldn't, but it does. No matter how many times you tell yourself it doesn't, everyone knows it's not right. People just have such little faith in finding more than one of "the one", so they say this.

Age ruined one of my relationships. I've never loved anyone that way, but he's a good person...and twice my age. I think once you hit 30, it's not such a big deal, but i've got aways to go. I thought I was over him, and even eight months later i'm still waking up crying. But I think i've found someone else, closer to my age.

Age is just a number. You may know a lot more after a while but every heart falls in love.

Heres the thing If one has not matured enough
to know matters of the heart
then yes It matters because say you go out with and older person they may take advantage of you.
But as long as you are sure about yourself and know what you are doing then...
No, age and looks are out.
:)

No it does not. I've been married for 5 years to my husband who is 14 years my junior. People really can't even tell the age difference and we get along great. There are more racial issues like he loves heavy metal and I love R & B. We trade off by listening to my music when we drive somewhere and I tolerate his music when he's watching his favorite group Metallica (which I like a bit, just not everything).

It's just a matter of opinion. To me, no .. within reason. More than 10 years either was is about the limit, I think.

in my opinion it doesn't and it shouldn't. ages does not tell you how your heart feels. trust me. i've dated guys 14 years older than me and most all of them were great, i just wasn't ready to get serious, that is why it didn't last long. i know people who are with older men/women and they are married. my cousin is 34 and she is with a man 25 years older than her, and are married. my ex's parents are 16 years apart and have been together since she was 18 that is 42 years. that should prove that age is no concern.
