Yes I do accept others as they are. I never compare myself with them cause I'm NOT like them and never put myself in their cater gory. Yes I have a friend who is a neat freak and trying to get her body just the way she wants others to see her no matter what she has to do. I am not that way. My motto is what you see is what you get and I wont change my ways to make me more pleasing to someone else. I am a lousy housekeeper too and invite anyone in to my home even though its dusty etc.

I always try to accept others as themselves. Some people may be harder to accept & I may not agree with them, but that does not mean they are not deserving of respect. And yes, people DO see & interpret things in many different ways! We all do...that makes us unique, thank goodness!

Funny, as I get older, I get more open.
I think it has to do with trying to (errantly) be over-protective of my kids when they were small.
I've hung out with a bi-sexual former stripper with a very bohemian lifestyle who had a great heart and a very big brain (one of the most intelligent people I've met). And her gay former-boyfriend now room mate. And her other room mate who was once a junkie. I'm friends with a guy who has a problem with weed, but is funny, imaginative a wicked guitar player and a whiz at psychology and stats.
They are all good people. They were all very accepting of others. They didn't judge me so why should I judge them?
So yeah, I accept others as they are because below the surface we are all fragile souls looking for love and acceptance and we're all very imperfect. That's my comparison with others.
Peace

at some point in my life i have compared myself to others only to have a lower self esteem and perspective of myself which then led me to judge others.that was a couple of years ago when i was younger, naive as well as did not find my true identity at that time. as time progressed i have learned that you have to accept other the way they are because no one would like to be changed by a friend, family member,bf or gf.Ii have also learned that it is up to the individual to change if they wish to because one can try, hint and to their best to change or try to but if the other person does not put in the effort it becomes worthless.i have always came to theconclusion that there is no one one right or wrong answer but rather many because we as people are different, individuals, many of us who believe and see things in a different perspective. i respect others' opionns' since they do the same to my ideas.

I think its more difficult to accept people for who they are than it sounds. We all want the best for our loved ones, and would want them to change to be what we might think would make them happier, which is wrong.
I very rarely compare myself to others, I think this is a sign of insecurity, and can lead to unhappiness. Its bad enough accepting ourselves for who we are, without comparing ourselves to others. But yes, I can empathise with how they feel

II accept others as they are, and when I go to visit a friend, she usually says you caught me at my worst moment, to that i reply, I did not come to visit you because I wanted to see your flaws, I came to see you because i missed the chats we used to have back then. So, I do not compare myself to anyone, because I know I am not perfect, so why, would I think I am better than she is.

I absolutely accept people the way they are.
I am often baffled and amused by certain people.
As I am sure some people are that way towards me. I feel that this would be a very boring and lifeless world if we were all clones of one another.

I can't expect people to accept me as I am if I don't accept them as they are!! That doesn't mean they would be someone that I would want to be around me!! I accept people that have different views and beliefs but I will not accept people that are hateful and evil!!

I do measure people up-to my standards before accepting or rejecting them. That doesn't mean that I reject all those who are different from me and vice versa. I try to see the true worth of a person instead of outward appearance. I do welcome their different-ness once they find favours with me. I can be termed choosy or even fastidious but I remain loyal to my friends.... always.

I accept others as they are, if there's a way that I can be an influence in their life, then I'll try my best to encourage them.
