It is said that absolute power corrupts absolutely, and this has never been truer than in the case of Cheney. What Cheney is doing behind his shield of secrecy can be simply defined: planning and implementing a preemptive war of aggression. (Iraq, Iran) During the Nuremberg tribunal in the aftermath of World War II, the chief American prosecutor, Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, stated, “To initiate a war of aggression, therefore, is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.” Today, we have a vice president who articulates publicly about global conflict, and who speaks in not-so-veiled language about a looming Armageddon. If there is such a future for America and the world, let one thing be certain; World War III, as postulated by Dick Cheney, would be an elective war, and not a conflict of tragic necessity. This makes the crime even greater.

Unlikely for three reasons.
First, he didn't order any of the violations of 18 USC 2441 (federal war crime statute) that the Supreme Court has determined to have occurred.
Second, he isn't in the direct military chain of command -- nor does he have personal authority to issue such orders. Hence, at most he is the planner and/or messenger -- and federal law immunizes him in those roles.
Third, Congress passed laws giving retroactive amnesty to members of the Bush regime for past violations of federal war crimes laws -- for specifically the purpose of letting them get away with them.

What "war crimes" would you charge him with? Are you comparing Cheney to Hitler? You need to go see the men in the white suits.
1) Germany didn't give countries back that they conquered in WWll. They were taken back by force by the Allies. The US is trying to give the ELECTED government of Iraq a chance to succeed before we leave. If we didn't give a darn about that, we would have been gone already and left the country in ruins, to be conquered by Iran and giving Al Qaeda a new base to prepare attacks from.
2) Iraq was not a "war of aggression". Even if there weren't any WMD found (which there were, granted, not in the quantities that Sadaam himself led the world to believe) the entire western world including Great Britain, France, Germany, and Russia, were under the impression that he did have mass quantities of WMD. Was it a pre-emptive strike? Most certainly. Did we have other countries involved with us? Again, most certainly. (40+ nations provided either support, or troops)
3) The military doesn't take orders from the Vice President of the United States.
4) Do you doubt that if Iran aquires nuclear weapons that they will launch an attack on Israel or American friendly countries in the region? Don't take my word on this, look up what the president of Iran has said about Israel.
5) To speak of a looming danger doesn't mean he wants Armageddon. By your logic, those that warn of global warming MUST want it to destroy coast lines, melt the polar caps etc.
You of course are free to express your opinions, and I respect your right to do so, but in this case, you are quite wrong.

And who exactly would be trying Mr. Cheney? Only deposed dictators or war-losers get punished. Certainly no member of an American Adminstration will ever be brought befor a court of law by a power outside of the United States. Where is the motivation for anyone in the United States to start such proceedings against Bush, Cheney, or any other member of this sorry crew? It'll never happen.

You obviously have selective memory when it comes to history. Iraq is little more than a continuation of the first gulf war (AKA Desert Storm). Had both Bill Clinton and the U.N. supported and upheld the U.N. brokered cease fire agreement, the current "war" would not be happening. As it is, no crime has been committed that has not already been answered and paid (Sadam Hussein's refusal to abide by that agreement).
As for Iran, they have committed numerous offenses -- namely exporting terrorism and insisting on continuing the construction of a nuclear facility without first gaining approval by the world community. If they were a stable government that did not export terrorism, the nuclear portion of the equation would, for the most part, be a non-issue.
Really *sigh*, your whole view is biased to the point of being in a different paradigm. Perhaps if you would actually look at cold, hard facts instead of perceptions and false assumptions...

Hate to scare you but if you hadn't noticed.. We are IN WWlll . Every single country has some type of investment or opinion about the Iraq war. I agree, ALL wars are elective, and until you can rid all governments of profit at the hands of their own people their greed will destroy everything they say they are giving us.

What you actually mean is Should he be tried for protecting your sorry butt. History will be very kind to President Bush and Vice President Cheney and you can't stand it.
I don't if your old enough to remember all the crazy stuff that was said about President Reagan during the 80's, now everyone agrees, except the far left wingers, that he was one of the greatest presidents.

Remember, congress approved the war my friend. Your buddy Hillary Clinton, and all her dem friends voted for it. I think it's funny that you blame Cheney, most libs go for Bush. Also, last time I checked, we are not fighting against Iran....well, only the Iranians who sneak across the border to Iraq. Maybe you meant Afghanistan.
