There are two types of equality.

The first is the freedom of everyone to make their own decisions, and live the the consequences of those decisions -- that's capitalism.

The second is when govt forces everyone to be the same, and in effect makes the decisions for everyone -- that's fascism in the political arena, and communism in the economic arena.

Capitalism -- free market economy -- gives everyone an equal chance to succeed -- after that, it's up to their individual drive, resourcefullness and skill.

When I see questions like this I always ask myself, how much life experience could this person have.
Maybe everyone in the govt. should be paid the same but personally have worked in the same field for over 30 years(have you been alive that long) and have a lot more value to my employer than a laborer hired straight out of high school.
doctor or scientist are much more valuable than I am.
Your view is very naive and simplistic and one of the many reasons Communism doesn't work is exactly this idea.

That makes no sense unless everyone is contributing at the same level. The reality is there is no such society. Here, everyone has an equal oportunity, you don't have that in socialist countries that you apparently love so much, where inequality is even more apparent.

I'll be the first to say that the US doesn't always uphold equality, but what country does?

Every country has classes of individuals. Communist, Socialist, Dictatorship countries all have class levels. There is no such thing as equality.

The US is still the best because unlike Communist or Dictatorship, you are able to change the class you're in.

Well you know how socialism works and why it fails
You seem to have no clue as to Capitalism and its workings
maybe Cuba or China would suit you better with their form of gov.

Equality of opportunity is much more important that equality of results. In a socialist country you are denied the opportunity to be successful, not to mention that Socialism doesn't work!!

So are we suppose to reward the lazy as much as the hard working then? I think NOT!!!

This sounds like a Hillary Clinton proposal, and this kind of thinking will keep her out of office, thank god.
