The domain is the set of numbers you are going to use for x. One by one put them into your function f(x):

f(-2) = 8(-2) - 3
f(-2) = -16 - 3
f(-2) = -19

So your first pair is -2, -19

Next 0:
f(0) = 8(0) - 3
f(0) = 0 - 3
f(0) = -3

The next pair is 0, -3

Continuing with 2:
f(2) = 8(2) - 3
f(2) = 16 - 3
f(2) = 13
Ordered pair 2, 13

Finally x = 4:
f(4) = 8(4) - 3
f(4) = 32 - 3
f(4) = 29
Ordered pair 4, 29

The ordered pairs are:
(-2, -19)
(0, -3)
(2, 13)
(4, 29)

Extra credit:
Your domain is {-2, 0, 2, 4}
Your range is {-19, -3, 13, 29}

(-2,-19)(0,-3)(2,13)(4,29)
it's simple. f(x) is the x value, the x value always being one of the numbers in the domain. =8x-3 is the y value of the ordered pair. Take, for example, 0 from the domain. The x value of the ordered pair is automatically 0, and the y value is found by substituting x with the value. 8(0)-3= -3. Hence, -3 is the y value. Therefore, you get 0,-3 as one of your ordered pairs.

The domain is the set of numbers that you must plug in for x into the equation. In this case, every number plugged in one at a time gives you a range of - {-19, -3, 13, 29}

your ordered pairs would then be

(-2,-19) (0,-3) (2,13) (4,29)

Hope this helps!!!

the domain are the x valus, thus: 2,0,2,4
the ordered pairs are x and f(x) values
thus, plug in the x-values to get f(x) out:
(-2,-19) , (0,-3) , (2,13) , (4,29)

more explanation:
I just substituted in 2, 0, 2 and 4 for x into 8x-3

You plug the numbers in as x so you have to go thru each one and plug in the # as x and see which works so basically it turns out to be a number=a number but the number's have to be the same.

-2:

f(-2)=8(-2)-3 you plug in -2 as x
-2f=-16-3 you multiply x with something else
-2f=-19 you subtract -16 w/ 3
f=9.5 you divide both sides by -2 and you get f=9.5 or 9 and a half

the rest you do on your own.

Translation: Find values for y, given that x=-2,0,2,4
Write your answers as ordered pairs.
y=f(x)
Therefore y=8x -3
When x = -2, y= -19, (-2,-19)
When x=0, y=-3,.......(0,-3)
When x =2, y=13.......(2,13)
When x=4, y=29........(4,29
Simply substitute the values given for x into
y=8x-3, then solve for y)
