well first you need to add all of the things that are the same so like 6+3 is 9 and the answer will be 9+10x. You cannot add 9 and 10x for something. I just started algebra 1 too and my teacher always say it is apples with apples and oranges with oranges do not mix them together to make a fruit salad.Until you get into a further explanation

solve for x
6+10x+3=0
9+10x=0 combine like terms
9= -10x
-9/10=x
check it
6+10(-9/10)+3=?
9+10(-9/10)=?
9+-9=0

Your equation is missing an equal sign. A complete equation has a left-hand-side = right-hand-side. Don't worry too much about it -- it should not be that hard once you understand the concept.
