(Cluch replaced)1000 miles ,(motor got hot stalled twice) less then 3,000 miles. But there is nothing wrong with the bike it's all my fault said Yamaha rep. You put a hitch on so you have no warranty.
SO am I the only one that after many years of riding finds that a bike with malfunctioning parts is all my fault according to Yamaha?

I can see were you're coming from with the info I gave you. The bike pulled a trailer only twice for a total of 440 miles. On two different trips with no problems. The trouble started the first day I bought it and all trouble has been without the trailer, like the wreck the faulty clutch caused and the stalling and having to be pushed out of the street twice.I would like to tell you all that happened but it would take pages . Thank you for your response. But I am looking for some one that has had similar problems with their bike. I hope I'm the only one .I wouldn't wish this bike's problems on any one.

Stacebg ,Thanks that is what I'm looking for. My clutch got hot, stuck in low gear in a parade and I had to hit the kill switch. I shifted it too neutral and tried to get on a side street to cool it down. But when it started it threw me and the bike into the side of a parked car at the cost of over $2000 thank God for insurance. The police said it was mechanical failure. And I have more that has happend. So forgive me for sounding pissed. I can't find anyone at Yamaha that will take me serious. It's like I don't exist and my problems are no concern of theirs .I think they would like me to shut up and go away.

Try not to take it the wrong way.... it's your fault.

Yamaha bike normally run forever... the other Answer is also correct, if it's a new bike, run it in... give it some TLC before demanding so much from it.

Putting a hitch on a new bike... umm... not something most bikers would do.

what have you been towing with that hitch a chevy suburban?
you should have broken the bike in before towing anything.
they run hot during break in, even without pulling a trailer.

If you can't get any satisfaction from Yamaha, bring your bike to an independent shop to get checked out.
Tell them your story and ask them to document everything.
You might have a law suite.
