Your head after you bump it, or when you have a headache. I swear it makes it feel 10 times better. Why is that?

It helps as most things do feel good when the right amount of pressure is applied to it along with the rubbing motion increases the blood flow.

Well subconsiously when rubbing your head or any aching bodypart, pressure is being applied. Applying pressure regulates the blood flow... and regulated blood flow leads to a great relaxing sensation.

It increases the circulation. Take a shower and wash your hair is a good way to get rid of a stress headache.

You're stimulating your brain by forcing it to recognize the pressure you're applying to your head, replacing the pain signals that were being sent to the brain from the bump.

depnds where you rub it!for a headache,rubbing the temples is great,a bump on the head,icepack or cool hands!

it always good to get the blood flowing to your head by rubbing it, it even better when someone else rubs your head for you.

i know my head feels better if someone else rubs it but you have to watch sometimes you rub too long and it will go off all over you.. LOL

Because your nerve endings think some feelings are more important than others, so they block signals if 'more important' signals are detected.
