I'm on Ortho Tri Cyclen. I just finished the first month of pills. I have noticed that while I've been on this pill I sometimes feel very angry/hostile. I don't ever have mood problems. I'm normally a calm person. It makes me snap at my boyfriend for no reason. I'm thinking it must be the birth control.

HOw long should I continue to take this pill? If I give it another month or two will my system adjust?

If not, what pills have you taken that didn't make you moody and didn't affect your sex drive?

Thanks!!

Also the main reason I take BC is because of health issues, not just to prevent pregnancy. I take it for that too, but that was not why I started taking it.

Non hormonal birth control. Also what's weird is you have a GIANT stigma against dating a divorced man because the bible MAY not like it yet you're having premarital sex? Either you are trying to be Christian and NOT SIN (like your previous post implied) our your an apple picker Christian who CHOOSES when she can sin w/out any issue....it just confuses me. I mean if you weren't stuck on NOT sinning I wouldn't care but you seem like a huge hyporcrite which I can't seem to stand

As much as it might make me (more) unpopular to say this, you're messing with your body's physiology.

Your body, from birth, has had a specific design for function. Introducing a chemical agent that adjusts how your body functions is naturally going to have an effect on how your body and mind behave. This is only reasonable. You are changing the way your body functions, and your body is letting you know it.

The most sensible thing would be to not put any chemicals in your body, or to put as few as possible in your body.

Each woman reacts differently to birth control medications. You'll have to wait a little to see what happens.

I had the best results with Depo-Provera (the shot you get every 3 months). It had the least affect on my moods and little to no affect on my sex Drive. Bonus: it also stops your periods - you don't have them at all!! Loved that part! Of course, how hormones affect me does not mean they will affect you the same way.

Could not hurt to put in a call to your dr or nurse practitioner.
