Magnetism, and two different kinds of force that binds atoms together, called the weak and the strong, as I remember.

Not bad for someone who has not had a science course since the early 1970s, eh?

P.S. Sorry; James is right. I should have called it electromagnetic, not simply magnetic.

The other 3 are
1. it will rain if you hang out your washing
2. it will blow a howling gale as soon as you've decided its nice enough to do some paperwork outside, and have just set them all out on the table
3. The last frost of the year will always come the night after you have planted out tender summer bedding plants.
