The Founding Fathers were a group of well-educated men who led America in the early stages of her history. These men risked there lives for our freedom. We need to protect our civil liberties. This began with achieving independence of the thirteen colonies from England, and continued on with the formation of a government for the new nation once the Revolutionary War had been won.
If one considers any of the people who participated in the forming of this Republic or of evicting the King to be "Founding Fathers," then naturally the Framers of the Constitution are a subset of the Founders, since they gave us the format and structure for the Republic. Of course, the number who might be deemed Founding Fathers would be larger than the list of Framers, a case in point being Thomas Jefferson, who was not present at the writing of the Constitution, but he was surely a Founding Father.
As for specific people, the Founding generation included: Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, John Hancock, Thomas Paine, Roger Sherman, John Jay, James Wilson, and Governeur Morris. It would be impossible to construct a list which would be accepted by all historians.

there isnt really a number, it depends on different views
founding fathers were the people involved in forming of united states of america
peopel such as george washington, ben franklin, or paul revere
basically everyone in continental congresses (1st and second) are considered founding fathers, because it was they who wrote declaration of independance
other founding fathers can be like the people who got rid of articles of confederation, and rewrote them as the constitution
military leaders and other such heroes from early days of america are all considered founding fathers, those who took part in founding of america
this is america im talking about, as a country, not the colonies of britain
founding fathers are those who helped break away from britain

Think of the first continental congress, or the signers of the constitution, or even the guys that wrote the declaration of independence. Washington, Franklin, Jefferson, Hamilton, Adams, etc. they fought for our county's independence.

the real founding fathers may never be known. as to those others who are referred to as the founding fathers aka george washington and co. were just immigrants who took a land that did not belong to them from native indians. the real founding fathers were native american indians to be honest with you.
