Do this using FOIL (First, Outer, Inner, Last)

PROBLEM 1:
(x-3)(x-5)

First:
x * x = x²

Outer:
x * -5 = -5x

Inner:
-3 * x = -3x

Last:
-3 * -5 = 15

Adding them up:
f(x) = x² - 5x - 3x + 15

Combine like terms (x):
f(x) = x² - 8x + 15

So a = 1, b = -8, c = 15

PROBLEM 2:
(7-x)(9-x)

First:
63

Outer
-7x

Inner:
-9x

Last:
-x * -x = x²

All together:
g(x) = x² - 16x + 63

a = 1, b = -16, c = 63

1. x^2 -8x + 15 a= 1, b =-8, c = 15
2. 63 - 16x +x^2 a = 1, b = -16, c = 63.

yep

1. f(x)=(x-3)(x-5)
=x^2-5x-3x+15
=x^2-8x+15

2.g(x)=(7-x)(9-x)
=63-7x-9x+x^2
=63-16x+x^2
=x^2-16x+63
