No, they would not, they would ask you to rewrite it again. It is an offence to send obscene words or similar through the royal Mail.

to the other girl that answered. Expletives were really bad back then when they had sensationalism. Look that word up. They usually were like cannabalism, neckrophilia and all that other gross stuff. so maybe they would accept the telegram and they won't maybe accept it it depended upon that person.

i would have thought so as there was far more politicaly incorrect peeps back then, telegrams are still aqvailable today in uk try sending one today save you asking the same q in 40yrs time lol.

Yes. It was not the telegraph operator's job to censor the words they sent, just to send them.
