My husband and I decided on Kate for our little girl, once we have one, but there aren't many middle names that sound good with a one syllable name...I really like Olivia, but I'm not sure...?

I see what you mean. You need a 3 syllable middle name.

If you guys decided on Kate (I love it!) I think you must be fairly common-sense cut and dried people. That means good, old-fashioned Christian names.

Kate Rebekah
Kate Rachael
Kate Christiana
Kate Hannah
Kate Lisbeth
Kate Audrey
Kate Gloria

Look at some of your most-respected heroes in life. I know Maya may not fit Kate, Kate Angelou Johnson? Name her with a heritage.

Don't give her the middle name Lynn! You might as well name her Katelynn.

If your last name is shorter, consider using a longer middle name to help it flow better. If you have a longer middle name you could get away with a short middle name.

Kate Olivia is nice.

Here are some more ideas for you.

Kate Victoria
Kate Abigail
Kate Renee
Kate Rose
Kate Amalia
Kate Aurora

You could always go with Katherine or Katelyn and Kate for short. Middle names might be easier to come up with then.

Kate Marie
Kate Leanne
Kate Michelle
Kate Leigh

Katherine or Katelyn
Grace
Leigh
Marie
Nicole
Noel Source(s)

Good luck picking that perfect name ♥

Many people named Kate are given the birth name Katherine/Catherine, and they are known simply by the shortened name "Kate." That's just a suggestion which may help you with your middle name search.

Katherine Olivia sounds very nice.

Good luck.
