I would rather have lived in fascist germany, as the quality of life was signifigantly higher (unless you were jewish, and only until we bombed the bejabbers out of everything). If both governments are evil, why not pick the one that makes you the most comfortable? Just because of how they portray themselves to the outside world? Most people, I think, would prefer to have politics out of their lives entirely, and just want to be left in peace. Fascist Germany didn't try to control EVERY aspect of their citizens lives, and hence the people were happier and healthier. I don't remember the fascists having to build a wall around Berlin in order to keep people in.

Number one, Germany was not Fascist. Italy, under Mussolini, was fascist. Many misconceptions have been made simply becuase no one is willing to look with an open mind, and that if you do you are shunned by our society. First of all, Germany was National Socialist (NS). Fascism is a political and economic system that basis more emphasis on wealth in a 'House of corporations", and is generally non-racist, as in Italy, up until 1938, the Italian Fascist party had 12,000 Jews with in it. NS is different, National Socialism is like Racial or folk-Socialism, which is different from just plain old marxist styled socialism. It attempts to extinguish class rank, why at the same time it furthers one's race above all, using and interesting type of control on national assests such as fuel, means of production, and health care, but unlike communism, does not seek to erase private property, or pay people an equal amount. Israel is a great example of modern Fascism, or China too, extreme-Nationalism, combined with ecocmic controls and oppression, National Socialism is the revolution of the proletriat, of the worker against an unjust system, which oppresses you both racially(Modern times) and economically.

Germany never was a Fascist country.
The term 'Nazi Germany' referring to the period from 1933 to 1945 is not politically correct, too, as it does not reflect the historic dates. In Germany, it is not a term used to describe that era. Rather it is called 'Third Reich'.
I'd say 'National Socialist Germany'.
From an international perspective, Nazism had much of the ideological basis of Fascism which originally developed in Italy under Mussolini. Both ideologies involved the political use of militarism, nationalism, anti-communism, holism, paramilitaries, and intended to create a dictatorship-led state. However, the Nazis were far more racially-oriented and xenophobic than Fascists in Italy, Portugal, and Spain and the Nazis were intent on creating a completely totalitarian state, unlike Italian Fascists who allowed a larger degree of private liberties for their citizens than the Nazis permitted, and who allowed the Italian monarchy to continue to exist and have some official powers.

I'm sure I would have had a very short life in either country since I speak my mind and don't take much **** off of anybody, especially politicians.
But given those two choices, I would have chosen Fascist Germany for the following reasons: Better beer (I don't like vodka), prettier women, better food, better climate.
Also, the chances of escaping from nazi Germany were better than escaping from communist Russia. Many people did get out of Germany (those who saw what was coming and acted promptly.)

I've had students who went over and lived in the USSR for a year -- and their commentary was that while the economic lifestyle was very harsh, the people were very pleasant -- and the govt generally stayed out of personal lives. The govt was too interested in controlling the money to worry about personal relationships or what people prayed to.
So -- of those -- fascist germany was a lot more dangerous, a lot more controlling, and far worse for anyone who wasn't one of the elite.

Communism is purely the place the people artwork at the same time for the best of the community. If somebody could make a Communist society artwork, i could take it over Fascism in a heartbeat.

If I had to choose, communist Russia.
I would just make sure not to piss off anybody, and get the hell out as soon possible. The people that died under Stalin died because they were considered traitors or because the state farms failed.
In Nazi Germany, I'd be killed simply for existing. Nonaryan here.
