Best song to sing at a audition....?

Im trying out for the play: Little Shop of Horrors. i will need to sing one song and also act a short scene.

I need:

Suggestions for a song to sing ( nothing sad please and nothing too difficult!!)
Any audiotion tips possible

We'd need to know which role you plan to audition for and what your vocal range is. I know I can't tell from your name or avatar if you're male or female...

In general you sing a song with the same vocal range and character type as the role you want to get in the show. If you were auditioning for Audrey, you might sing All For Laura from the Woman in White. Audrey's described as an idealist so you can actually consider something Disney like Part of Your World and In my Own Little Corner. Personally I would go with Part of Your World since Audrey sings a very similar "Somewhere That's Green" but again, I don't know what role you are auditionoing for.

AAAAAAAAAhhhh no way! I'm auditioning for that next monday!
I have a voice teacher, and she told my to sing something, that is pop, upbeat. Are you allowed to sing songs from the musical? If not ANYTHING from Hairspray works, there are some good songs from Rent too. Break a leg!!!

If you're auditioning for a musical, your best bet is to sing a song from a Broadway production. I tried out for my town's production of Into the Woods (BRILLIANT!!) last year, and I got the part of the Baker's wife!! I sang a song called "Many A New Day" from "Oklahoma!" It's a great song if you're a mezzo like me.

something with a lot of range that show your talents such as soprano, alto, etc. You want to show off all your abilities in singing, pick a song by an artist that sings like YOU
