As long as the power centers of society are dominated by collectivists - of which you state, are a strong one, the movement toward global totalitarianism will continue. Merely protesting that trend and issuing petitions or proclamations may slow the process on occasion but will make no meaningful difference in the long run. The only path to victory is to remove collectivists from positions of power and replace them with individualists. Is that such a bad ideal?

A Ron Paul victory would send thousands of collectivist moles scrambling out of their burrows in Washington D.C. and, in their place, there would be a chance for men and women with traditional American values. Yes, it’s a long shot at this point, but it’s also our only shot; so we would be foolish not to pursue it with everything we have.

I think the question really should be; what goes on in the mind of those who DON'T support him?

Do you like big government?
Do you enjoy paying taxes?
Do you support the complete violation of our constitution and a switch to a primarily socialist government?
Do believe you should foot the bill for an out-of-control national debt (we are literally teetering on bankruptcy)?
Do you believe the United States should be the world's police force?
Do you believe the US Government can violate your privacy and infringe on your rights in the name of 'security'?
Etc, etc.

Now I think you have some idea of what goes on in the mind of a Ron Paul supporter - because Ron Paul supporters are paying attention. If these things don't concern you, I am just mystified. We are in serious danger of losing our rights and becoming a socialist country because of apathy and short-sightedness. Your lack of understanding with regard to what Ron Paul wants to do to help YOU is exactly why we are in the mess we're in right now.

I would classify myself as an ardent Ron Paul supporter. I served 9 years in the military. I have never voted Democrat. Not that there weren't some I might have voted for, but I am a conservative christian, and I have trouble with most of their positions. I believe we are witnessing the end of America if we continue down the road we have been on. I have seen it, as a government employee. GW is giving away our country to his friends, and he is supporting an expanded war in favor higher oil prices. If you think I'm crazy, look at the price of oil 2001 vs. today.
I believe in the Constitution. It was so important to the founders, they fought and prayed over it. It has served us well, and stands against tyranny. In fact, it seems to be the only thing between us and tyranny.
We don't need to be fighting wars for oil. If you think this wasn't for oil, please explain Rwanda? Darfur? We only police where we want our influence to be significant, and that only occurs where there is oil. We will do the same with Iran if this madness isn't stopped. Were it not for oil, we wouldn't care about Iran either. If we weren't on two of their borders, they wouldn't need to develop nuclear weapons, but they are afraid of us.
A lot goes through the mind of a Ron Paul supporter. I have studied this long and hard. Apparently there are thousands just like me.

Nothing - if they had some common sense they wouldn't be saying stupid things like "Paul is our only hope to beat Hillary!" "Ron Paul is our savior." "Paul will win the nomination." "Paul won the debate since he got 37% of the text voting."

Then there's the biggy (heard this one today), "Paul is in a tight horse race with Rudy, Thompson & Romney."

Paul supporters can be humorous and don't look at FACTS. Fact is that Paul hasn't been about 2% of the vote so it is impossible to win.

His supporters are typically young and are on the Internet and have cell phones with texting. The average voter isn't that way. The text voting would have been done by these young supporters that text all the time. I didn't bother to vote in their poll since it is pointless and I barely know what I'm doing when I text message someone (I only got it set up on Saturday!)

I think Ron Paul is a nut case and I wish he would drop out and leave us alone! I'm sure I will get lots of thumbs down for this!

Hope
for a dying Constitution
for a dying national sense of decency
for our dying national sovereignty
Hope
and ---

Anger
over the consistant lies
over the consistant loss of rights
over the manipulation of our lives
over the pandering to big business and corporate interests

So, a lot more than some WOULD think
that is, if they WERE thinking !!

Freedom, Liberty, small government, lower taxes, lower spending, end the war, end the NAU/SPP, stronger border defense and a competing currency to eventually fade out the current one and rid of the IRS.

Yup...all stuff your government does not want you to think about.
