you are talking about 1948 ,this piece of land was called Palestine
Palestine was all the time in unity with what is called now Syria,Jordan and Lebanon,it was called then"bi lad alsham"all through the ages,it suffered occupations now and then,Greeks,Romans.Persian.finiqian,turkish,french,english.
the crusaders by 1100 attacked Jerusalem, killed in the yards of aqsa mosque 70 000 pple (not soldiers)simple pple went to the house of god, then turned to the Jews in the city and killed them they established what so called Latin kingdom,Jerusalem was the capital, stayed that way till the liberation of sala7iddin
by the time Arabs were against the Turk, under the leadership of Lawrence the saix-pico treaty was revealed,in which bilad asham was divided between British and french,Syria and lib anon to french and east of Jordan to kingabdullah ruled indirectly by Britain,Palestine is directly ruled by English, that was the bilford issue in order to make the ground to establish Israel.
the land is called Palestine, and nothing is going to change that
you ought to remember that prophet Ibrahim passed by Jerusalem,we welcomed him as a guest the name of the king was Salem, and it was called later oorsalem, then 3ersalem
OK that much???

It was part of the Palestine mandate which included what is now Jordan.
90 years ago it was Sanjak Jerusalem, a part of the Ottoman empire.
Before then it was under Egyptian control who re-took it from the crusaders. My crusades history is a bit rusty but they took over from Muslims, who took it from the Eastern Roman. If you follow the trail of conquest long en ought it will get to Israel and Judea and then to Canaan.
