Only the US is allowed to unilaterally invade countries.

Seriously -- we invaded because we thought Saddam might be planning to do bad things....

Turkey has been attacked -- directly and repeatedly -- by terrorists and hostile forces that are sheltering in Iraq....

And WE want to deny them the right to go after the people who attacked them -- after what we've done {hah!}

Kurds. The Kurds have been launching assaults - some might say terrorism- at Turkey for years if no longer many years. The Kurds opt to reform Kurdistan, their historical united states which straddles the two Turkey and northerly Iraq. The Turks are lifeless set against it and the two have been warring for a minimum of two many years. Now with the Kurds freed from Saddam's terror, they might concentration their efforts on recreating Kurdistan. to sidestep this, the Turks are arranged and entirely able to invading Northern Iraq to quash Kurdish objectives...and get some somewhat worthwhile oil fields. regrettably-this places the US in undesirable place. the two the Turks and the Kurds are allies. Turkey has a protracted background of secular professional-west Islam and a accepted affinity for us. The Kurds have been truthfully necessary in OIF and in counter-terror activities in Northern Iraq (ever ask your self why AQ has no actual foothold up there? Thank the Kurds for that). So what happens if Turkeys invades? Who will we help? will we intrude against a stable reasonable Muslim best buddy (we've so few at the instant)? will we in essence betray the Kurds? How do you think of that would play in center East media - we lose the two way. to no longer point out if shooting between US and Turk forces commences. What could that propose for NATO (Turkey is a member)? will we sustain a three front conflict? 2 is proving problematic sufficient at the instant...and the Turks can combat (merely ask the German military). no longer a good place for the US. And US international kin is a comedian tale the previous 6 years so this do no longer seem to good.

if Iraq was invaded by Turkey it wouldn't be safe for U.S. contractors such as Haliburton to stay. It would also mess up the middle east power balance and we'd have to admit that we were a complete failure
