Im only bearly 36 weeks and just about 2-3 weeks ago is when I actually started feeling I guess a contraction that feels like a pinch or sharp mini pain. Now at home mother and I tend to argue about anything almost everyday and I get mad if I dont easily let it go. But I wonder if that could make the baby come sooner?? Is feeling tightness in the midsection of my stomach a contraction? And what about that sharp pain I described, I feel that right at the tip of my ******? They seem to come and go like every 15-20 min

Anything that causes you a lot of stress could affect the baby. Don't underestimate the effects of stress on your body.

Yes and it sounds like you are already having contractions. That is what the stomach tighening is also argueing and stress are not good for the baby if there is alot of it your baby can be born very fussy and cry alot. Undue stress can cause the baby a lack of oxygen I went through that with one of my pregnancies and end up having to have an emergency c-section. Your mom and you need to try your best to eliminate as much stress as possible. My stress was due to my husband getting hurt in a motorcycle accident but my ob/gyn said it didn't matter where the stress came from it can cause complications. You are having contractions if this is happening every 15-20 minutes, could be braxton hicks (false labor) or if they keep up you need to go to the hospital if they get to 5 minutes apart for 30 minutes. Also you will need to contact your doctors office to let them know of your situation so your doctor can be there. Good luck, and best wishes.

The feeling of tightness in the midsection is indeed a contraction, but probably a pre-labor Braxton-Hicks contraction. But in the event that they are regular, and 5 mins apart, call your dr.

Arguing doesn't do anybody any good, and it won't make baby appear any sooner. On the contrary, if you want contractions, making love is #1 on the list, and hubby playing with your boobs is #2.

I know you don't feel really sexual right now, and are more than a little grumpy, but just try to hang on. You will NOT be the first mom whose pregnancy lasted forever. I promise.

Take care,
TX Mom

You are definitely causing your baby stress by arguing. The baby is tensing up every time you argue. Not only are you causing stress, your baby can come early, your baby can have health issues(nervousness) or worse. The sharpness around that area you was speaking of is normal as you get closer to the end of your pregnancy. Just be careful with the arguing because my neice had two weeks left to give birth. She argued with her mom a lot and when she went for her checkup, the baby had died. Not only was she stressing, the baby was stressing as well. Remember when you get ready to argue with someone, stress can kill.

Stress did cuase me in go into pre term labor at 26 weeks. How ever the doctor did stop my contraction. My stress was something that was over a long period of time. I had a couple of people close to me pass away, my brother got brain damage that caused him to act 8 years old, and my neighbors dogs killed my horse, after that out home was broke into. So unless your life is that stressful the chances are low but it isn't good for you or baby at all.

My ex husband (of 12 years) used to get pissed at me and throw me a pillow when I was in the living room...And of coarse I'd have to yell stupid stuff like that's ok I like sleeping on the couch anyway...but I really didn't. I was always raised to never go to bed mad at each other but that's pretty "old school" in todays times so I think I might be the only one left!

don't worry u get this kind of like contraction but its only pressure from the baby at this time u will now when u get the real contractions they are really different from those and they come really close together. Stress can make the baby come earlier tho you should try to relax more.

Stress is definitely not good for the baby or yourself. Your probably having braxton hicks contractions,...that is your body practicing. OR you could be having contractions and be ever so slightly dilated. By this time you should be seeing your OBGYN every week, right? Just make sure to let them know! Get ready for the most wonderful and exhausting time of your life sweetie!

If you respect your Mother the arguing will go away. Try it and see. You do love your Mom don't you. Then show it. Babies are like this the first one can come anytime and the rest take 9 months.

depends on your age, but mostly stress CAN induce false contractions and making the baby come sooner than expected...and contractions are a TIGHT pain felt in your stomach, it is actually your uterus muscle contracting and making that sharp pain feeling!!!

Good Luck with your problems, and i hope your baby is healthy!!
