He definitely needs to get better for the betterment of his team. He needs to work on footwork and that will also cut down on his fouls.
Teams hire bigs to help their current bigs frequently. Orlando Magic have signed on Patrick Ewing to help Dwight Howard. Hakeem Olajuwon works with Yao Ming in Houston. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was helping the Lakers with Kwame Brown and Andrew Bynum.
The Suns need to follow suit and get someone to help Amare. However, I don't think it is likely as D'Antoni preaches offense and not defense. It's too bad because, in my opinion, he is really hurting Amare Stoudemire's development.

If the coaching was there, he probably could, but unfortunately Suns dont believe in defence. They have a big problem at hand right now cause they lost their only good post defender, Kurt Thomas. Now when facing the likes of Tim Duncan in the playoffs, Suns have to do something extra special to win. Let's see how it pans out.

he wont get any better i dont think he has the body to do so yes he can jump but his body and style of play arent going to allow it
