I have heard that feminism is a 'hate cult'. Why do feminists (I use the term loosely) hate men and normal women? Is it some kind of disorder and if so can it be cured?

Summerwe - Yes they hate normal women too. Read some of Erin Pizzey's books about the way the feminista operates. Erin, the founder of women's shelters, was a caring woman who was victimized by feminists and even had death threats made against her and her family.

Patois - I'm black and jewish so you've picked on the wrong guy to try to lecture about naziism. The fact is that feminism and naziism share many common characteristics.
goldfish - you're not making it clear whether you're talking about male chauvinism or female chauvinism.

Tera - I'm not assuming or presuming anything. I'm going by what many feminists say or portray (let's not go into that sterile 'but who is the true feminist' thing) and by 'research in the field' i.e. everyday observation and experience.
In my book the sooner feminism - of whatever flavour - and masculism get washed away and replaced by equalism the better. Sorry, but there it is.

Some people are of remarkably dubious quality.
Ah ember halo -yes indeed I can see why you wouldnt want to be the one taking credit there. I recognise it alright - and that is hardly anything light is it? Is that not a phrase from some one who is reported to believing such daft things as the weak serve the strong? That manson fella with the odd ball eyes?
Try a little sepultura - propaganda. Personally at the moment I tend ot prefer things of bouncy nature, or a little grieg or tchaikovski, perhaps even enya. I cant say I have ever agreed with that persons tastes - found them somewhat disagreeable. As one of his own tunes that ended up on top of the pops put it best - mean obscene, just my thoughts on that one.
EDIT.
Ember - ah I guessed that may be where your coming from. I can see the humour, I guess you saw the reference I made to sepultura the same way lol.
Didnt have you figured for as a wind up merchant .. now I know lol.

You are not a beer guzzling, redneck. We were able to ascertain that in another question. I am a feminist. Not only do I not hate people but I have devoted not only my entire career but a large amount of my personal time volunteering. I believe in equality but ethically I can honestly say I hate absolutely nobody.
You being a black, jewish male are probably inundated with stereotypical images of what you are supposed to be like. Feminists are also given this image and it is only fair to say that this is a stereotype as well. When we use this to identify others we severely limit our engagement with that group or person.
To me that is a travesty and is far more hate and suspicion driven then feminists working towards alleviating a power imbalance.

Feminists don't hate men but be honest, men have have been a thorn in women's side. We couldn't vote until 1920. We couldn't have credit cards in our name or own property. Women were expected to get married and have tons of children and put up with abuse and all kinds of crap. Women couldn't get divorces, let me tell you women couldn't do anything and it sucked. Women still don't make the same amount as men, and women have to deal with all of the ugly stereotypes that men created. If a woman hated a man she'd have good reason! But not all women hate men I love men but I detest the things that some men do to keep a good woman down!

What exactly do you mean by "normal women"? Any woman who wants a career or to go to college is a feminist. That's because they aren't going for the lifestyles that feminists fought against such as getting married at an early age and not getting an education. I don't believe many women would want those for themselves even though those have long been considered proper and traditional lifestyles for women.

If your exposure to feminism is limited to the works of Andrea Dworkin and Valerie Solanas, I can understand your question. But bear in mind there are plenty of moderate thinkers who do not harbor hatred, who call themselves feminists.
If I were in your place, I would withhold judgement, pending further study of the topic.

I don't think it's hatred in all or even most cases, or that it begins as hatred in most of the cases where it ends up being so. At bottom is the human tendency to search for coherent understandings of the world that agree with what one gre3w up with and with one's personal experience. Today, as in patriarchies of ancient times, the intellectual establishment follows trends determined by deep presuppositions that are too basic to be authentically questioned, and today these presuppositions tend to favor feminine worldviews and to exclude masculine ones.
___The past 600 years has seen an intellectual trend emphasizing sense-verified "truth", emotivism, ans materialism, and these, when carried through to their extermes, tend to "verify" feminist perspectives, and make masculine ones appear as anomalies, or, in practical terms, counter-intuitive "falsehoods" of the "he can't really believe that" variety, which in turn leads to presumptive judgments of dissenters' bad faith.
___It begins with an incapacity to understand or take seriously perspectives that are too anomalous to the prevailing conventional wisdom. If the more valid perspectives of feminist theory could be taken back in time, they would be greeted with equal hostility. When it appears that dissent can't possibly make sense, then it appears that the dissenter is acting out of spite or devil's advocacy.
___It's just about as much a disorder as many of the methods of late-Medieval thinkers, no more, no less. It will be "cured", one way or another, since senescent paradigms inevitably give way to newer, fuller perspectives.

Feminists detect their very own hatred for adult adult males & masculinity while they blame themes on adult adult males and/or masculinity. as an occasion, they talk approximately abuse as though merely adult adult males do so. while they talk (on the uncommon events) approximately lesbian violence, they confer with the abuser as being masculine and the sufferer as being female. Then they waffle on approximately how females are 'stable'... Jessica Valenti considers herself, and is seen via many reasonable feminists, as a reasonable herself. And yet, she is pushing for regulation to be became the other way up - to income (frequently) females and to negatively effect (frequently) adult adult males... She needs (adult adult males) accused of rape (remember that's the crime that feminists keep attempting to dilute so it is composed of consensual intercourse) to be assumed responsible (via regulation) until he can 'practice' his innocence. So in situations the place her observe isn't stable sufficient OR lacks any data, he can nonetheless be 'got here across responsible' by way of fact he can't *practice* he won consent from the accuser (frequently females). this would advise ALL intercourse between adult adult males & females will finally end up with a sequence of witnesses, signatures, criminal varieties etc - and it will would desire to be repeated merely approximately each occasion of intercourse between them. that's blatantly misandric (hateful in direction of adult adult males). assistance on the thank you to't see the hatred of adult adult males from feminists is previous me.

Normally, these are women who are the victims of bad advice. Just remember that when you're on the Titanic and the boat is sinking, these women aren't going to be saying "Men and women are equal!!!" They'll be in the lifeboats with the rest of the women. These women want all the equality in the world when it's good equality (pay, promotion, etc) but when it's bad equality they become women again fast (getting punched for smarting off to a man, sinking boat, lifting great weight, etc). So if you find what they say ignorant, then just ignore them. But deep down they don't hate all people, just men. Remember, the last group of people ruled by women were Amazons and they ended up killing each other during their time of the month. HA HA HA!!!

I certainly do hope you're using the term loosely! A real feminist doesn't hate anyone, except for certain individuals who have slighted them in the past (or terrorists, or telemarketers).
