about the same time they quit building homes in flood area, hurricane alley, and tornado alley. People don't learn, and it cost consumers millions every year. That's why they keep jacking up the cost of insurance.

that's mean. ok they did decide to have a home in a fire-prone area, but to say they asked for it, it's not true. i have friends who live in the canyon country, and believe me, asking for a fire to tear their lives apart is not what they asked for. do you have in an area that's perfect and safe away from everything ? no crazy neighbors ? no car-jacking ? no storms and no heat waves ? tell me where you're at, i'll move right away to where your live. there's hundreds of people right now who are homeless and many more don't know if they'll even have a home to return to, so instead of calling them stupid, help out. if you can't, then shut the hell up.

It's perfectly safe to build homes in California as long as you don't insist on building them on steep hillsides with lots of chapparel. That's just asking for disaster. The reason people build them there is because they like the views.

So nothing EVER happens near your home? No fires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes, typhoons, nuclear reactor meltdowns, severe dust storms, landslides, rain, wind, snow, sleet, hail, general contamination of air and ground water, crazy neighbors? Man, if your area is so immune to everything that happens in the world then I wanna live in your neighborhood.
