It all started a week and a half ago when I was having sharp lower back pains, cramping, side pains, stomach fullness, frequent urination, feeling tired, and having diarrahea. Within this time I've had a urine test, blood test, a pelvic exam, and a pap smear. Everything has come back fine. I did miss my period this month but have just been put on Apri birth control pills. The doc knew this. For the past few days I've felt much better just been having some mild cramping that comes and goes. It's nothing that gets me down or keeps me from my regular routine. Anyone know what might be causing the cramping and what I can do to get it to go away?

It could be related to the medication, also some women say they notice some cramping in the week or two before their period comes.

In addition to heating pads and warm baths I would recommend seeing your doctor to see what additional suggestions they may have that can be of help for the cramping.

At 24 weeks I began having menstrual-variety cramps off and on for every week or 2. I known as my midwife who mentioned so long as they were not consistent (i.e. exertions pains!) then it used to be simply uterine stuff. But, name to be certain. I have not had it in every week now.

Ah, wish I could help with what it is, pain like that isnt good! You can buy 'heating pads' which stick to your stomagh, or back, or whatever hurts. They heat up when you apply them and last for hours and hours...there fab!! Hot water bottles are good too. Paracetamol is good for pain relief whereas ibruprofen good for reducing inflamation which could be making it sore.....I would go back to Docs and ask for med to help ease pain. Sometimes walking helps to ease pain too or rubbing the sore area with lavendar oil, or just massaging it. Good luck, i hope this gets better!!!!
