Lots of things, both good and bad can make my heart beat fast but the one that I can never control is seeing a hot girl that really has it all goin' on. Also a hot session of heavy lovemaking with someone very special.

Getting shot at, disposing of IED's, clearing mine fields, runnin and gunnin, mortar attacks, basically anything that might end in me dying in some fashion.
Coming home at the end of the tour of duty and having to face my family and friends after basically living like an animal for a year and a half is the major one though.

lots of exercise in a short space of time
take a bleep test for instance these have a certain amount of beeps you need to run to the other side of a court in a time limit and as you progress the bleeps get faster and you need to run faster...generally after one of these your heart will be beating very fast
