I am aware of the fact that you can personalize it on certain website but I also noticed some people make it themselves, what is needed to make it?

There are many ways to create your own graphic tees:

For "one-offs" I like to use iron-on transfers.

For larger quantities, say, a couple of dozen, or more, I just send my files to a tee shirt print shop. It is a LOT less work, and the quality is better.

On RARE occasions, I will paint an original design using fabric acrylics.

I used to do custom airbrushed tee shirts, from my studio, and at art and craft festivals. At times, this was profitable, but it was a LOT of work, because the inks had to be filtered EVERY day, and clean up could take a very long time, as well.

You need screen printing equipment, which can be expensive. Iron-ons look unprofessional and don't always work (they can peel off, leave ugly white borders, and so on).

If you just want to design your own shirt (and don't care if another person does the actual printing) you can find plenty of graphic design businesses that will do it for around $10 (often a few dollars less) a shirt. I have a friend that has a graphic design business (Afterimage Design), and could do it for you. If you're interested email me.

I've done it at home w/ my inkjet....you can buy t-shirt heat transfers from most office supply stores, and then print on them..and iron it on - or pick up a heat press if your doing a lot of them. Have fun!
