lol. i'm not a cop. i just came to the realization that i was. never considered myself as one because i didn't do illegal drugs.

I used to be a recreational drug user. Then I became a functioning addict.
Now I'm clean.
All recreational drug users I have ever known have become addicts within a 10 year period. Because there is no recreation in getting high.

Kudos to the sweetest elf for a good answer. I too used to be a "recreational" user - until I found myself recreating more than working, taking care of my family, or anything else. A word of caution to those who haven't been there : the commercials may sound cheesy, but it really is true - one hit is one too many. By the time you find out you are an addict, it is way too late to take back that first hit. Unless you are willing to face the possibility of trading everything you love for drugs, prostituting yourself, and/or living out of dumpsters, don't take that first hit. It's never the last dose a user does that kills them - it's the first one...

When I was in college, I smoked alot of weed, but those days have been gone for 25 years. Just not into it anymore.
